Sovereignty 

The People's Republic of Tartistan is an independent nation and has been since August 10, 2023.

Article 3 of the Montevideo Convention on the Rights and Duties of States states that "The political existence of the state is independent of recognition by the other states."

The People's Republic of Tartistan also meets all the requirements to be a legitimate nation according to the Montevideo Convention.

1. A permanent population: Three people live here full time.

2. A defined territory: Our Mainland and Creekside provinces are our defined territories.

3. A government: Self explanatory

4. Be able to enter relations with other countries: We've entered relations with other nations such as the Republic of Casualandia and the Beanhide Kingdom.

Simply put, we do not have to be recognized by anyone in order to be a real country. This is the same approach that other micronations such as Molossia and Slowjamastan have when it comes to sovereignty.
